Silvan Gehrig studied law at the University of Zurich from 2005 until 2010 and received his law degree (lic. iur.) in 2010. In 2008, as part of an exchange program, he attended a semester at the law school of the University of Lyon.
In 2015, Mr. Gehrig procured a Master of Law (LL.M) from King's College London with a specialization in finance market law.
After completing his studies, Silvan Gehrig became a legal trainee with the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA); subsequently, he worked for the civil law division of the “Regionalgericht Bern-Mittelland” (Regional Court for the Bernese Midland) and, thereafter, served as a legal apprentice with a commercial law firm in Bern.
In January 2013, Mr. Gehrig was admitted to the Bar for the canton of Bern; he then worked for FINMA in their Strategic Services division until autumn, 2014.
In 2016, Mr. Gehrig became an associate attorney with Nobel and Hug.
