Lukas D. Frese studied law at the University of Zurich; he received his law degree (lic. iur.) in 2011.
During his studies, Mr. Frese worked for a law office in Küsnacht, Zurich. At the same time, he was also involved in the drafting of commentaries on the Swiss Products Safety Act. In July 2011, after completing his studies, Mr. Frese undertook a position as auditor at the District Court of Meilen, which he held until March 2012. Thereafter, he was appointed as a law clerk of the “Kollegialgericht” (a court with a panel of ca. 3 to 5 judges of equal standing) where he was engaged until July 2015. In his capacity as a law clerk, he was involved in the demanding task of editing complex legal decisions in the areas of civil and criminal law, which called for highly challenging proof requirements as well as the drafting of preliminary judgments for purposes of settlement negotiations. Mr. Frese was elected by the District Court of Meilen to act as Chairman of the Joint Conciliation Authority for Rental and Lease Matters from January 2013 to July 2015. In this capacity, he was responsible for the independent preparation and management of conciliation and settlement proceedings as well as the editing of corresponding decisions in the entire area of tenancy law. Mr. Frese was admitted to the Bar of the Canton of Zurich in January 2015 and has been with Nobel & Hug since September 2015.
