Ludovic Duarte obtained his law degree from the University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland in 2002 (magna cum laude). Subsequently, in 2010, he received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Edinburgh Business School in Scotland.
In 2003, Ludovic Duarte worked as a legal trainee for a law firm located in Biel/Bienne. In 2004, he served as a law clerk at the Regional Court in Biel as well as at the Administrative Court for the canton of Bern. Shortly thereafter, in November 2005, Mr. Duarte was admitted to the Bar for the canton of Bern.
From February 2006 until July 2011, Ludovic Duarte was engaged as an attorney with the firm, ATAG Wirtschaftorganisationen AG in Bern. Here, he was primarily involved with legal issues concerning the LOB Guarantee Fund. At the same time, Mr. Duarte was also a member of the implementing body of the Fund. While employed at ATAG Wirtschaftorganisationen AG, Mr. Duarte procured a considerable amount of experience in the areas of directors’ and officers’ liability law and debt collection and bankruptcy law. He also assisted in liquidations of pension funds, and he handled cases, as well as negotiations, involving the law concerning directors' and officers' liability. In connection with the latter, Mr. Duarte was also a regular speaker at seminars on the matter of occupational pensions.
Ludovic Duarte has been an attorney with Nobel and Hug since August 2011.
In the fall of 2014, Mr. Duarte was engaged as an attorney in the practice group for Finance and Governance with the law firm Sérvulo & Associados in Lisbon for a period of two months.
